Only 90 minutes drive from Budapest, or 25 minutes from Lake Balaton respectively you arrive at Herend, the site of the world famous Herend Porcelain Manufactory.
Beyond manufacturing quality hand-made and hand-painted porcelain, the Herend Porcelain Manufactory has undertaken yet another mission, namely to publicise, to protect and to pass on the special traditional craftsmanship and expertise it takes to see a product through the whole manufacturing process.

The guided tour at the Minimanufactory begins with a 3D short movie taking visitors into the world of Herend Porcelain. Then the film comes alive, the workshops where expert masters show off their dexterity, their art and the tricks of their trade with a display of the utensils used for porcelain-making. A special local creative program 'Try your hands on making porcelain’ enriches this visit.
The ambiance of the cosy Apicius Café and Restaurant makes a good culmination to this busy day. Fancy menus as well as coffee and tea specialities are served there on exquisite Herend place settings.
After the masterpieces of bygone days, visitors can see the present day range at the Victoria Brand Shop.
Opposite the Visitor Centre, the Herend Porcelain Museum offers a walk through the history of the Manufactory.
